Every weekday · Alex
SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO
A game session. Picking dinner. Choosing a film. Combine screen time and real-world rewards in one agreement, and mark the rewards you’ve given.
Keep each child’s tasks and agreements together, with independent rewards for different routines.
Daily, weekdays, weekly or weekends. Set the rhythm once, so your agreements fit your family’s week.
Add optional tasks that earn bonus minutes. A chance to do more, without making the everyday list longer.
A busy day? A change of plan? Parents can skip a task or add extra time for today, while keeping the usual agreement.
WHY READYTHEN EXISTS
A note from the founder
ReadyThen came from trying to manage screen time with my son. He was four, and he was starting to ask for the phone much more often than I wanted him to. I kept track of his time manually, and when it was over, I found myself arguing with a four-year-old about why he had to put the phone down. Too often, I ended up yelling and he ended up stressed.
Then I tried Apple’s native Screen Time. I gave him an hour of games on weekends, and when the time was up and the apps locked, something changed: there were no fights. Just a small, sad “My time is up :(” — and then he moved on to something else.
“When the boundary is clear and expected, it is much easier for everyone to accept.”
That was the seed of the idea: a management system where parents and children make agreements together. When the checkpoints are complete, the reward unlocks — screen time, chocolate, choosing a film, or something else that matters to your family.
Everything is clear: the expectation, the effort and the reward. No surprises for the child, and fewer arguments for the parent. That is why we created ReadyThen — a simple way to set agreements and make the next good thing ready.
A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
No. Agreements can include screen time and custom real-world rewards, such as picking the family film or choosing dessert. Parents give those rewards and mark them as given in the app.
The parent confirms task completion. Once all required tasks in an agreement are done, its rewards become ready. Optional bonus tasks can earn extra minutes without blocking the main rewards.
Yes. You can create child profiles with their own agreements, tasks and rewards. Different agreements can have different schedules and selected apps.
You can skip a required task or give extra time for today. Your usual agreement stays in place for its next scheduled occurrence.
ReadyThen is in development for iPhone and is not yet available on the App Store. Screen access features use Apple’s Screen Time capabilities on supported devices. Launch details will be shared here when ready.
